2012 will be a challenging year for Europe and the world economy as a whole. Looking at the worst-case-scenario of a disorderly eurozone break-up, there are three interrelated issues that Europe has to tackle at once: competitiveness, the banking system and sovereign debt.
Consequently procurement will once again play a key role in 2012: Supply managers have to drive down costs and must develop tools to anticipate market fluctuations. They need to assess and mitigate both operational and trading partner risks. Establishing successful supplier relationships with the most innovative and efficient suppliers worldwide will be crucial.
EPE 2012 will analyse the economic and political framework and its relevance for procurement. We will discuss best-inclass case studies on how to master the challenges lying ahead. We will not only look at strategies to mitigate risks, but also on how to secure corporate health and profitable growth with comprehensive and highly resilient supply chains.
