Home Operational Purchasing Facilities Management

Facilities Management

Facilities Management (FM) covers the operating of infrastructure activities, and aims to optimise quality of service for a given cost.

Optimising FM activities requires efficient procedures, management tools, and a constant search for efficiency :

  • Mutualisation of resources, to optimise efficiency across a range of tasks
  • Globalisation
  • Planning of needs and activities
  • Rationalisation of spend portfolio
  • Alignment of service levels to real needs

The Facilities Management scope can cover a wide range of services, and may be operated by an "in-house" team or may be out-sourced to a specialist operator. Our approach has no preference here, we simply aim to maximise efficiency across the board.

We recommend following our proven purchasing process in order to define and source successfully an FM requirement. We spend significant time with customers over the first phase of our process, in order to define an optimal FM strategy. In the case of out-sourcing to an FM operator, our assistance helps our customers through a process which is usually not well known by them. FM is not a frequent spend ! and we can help.

Each phase of our process is adjusted according to customer context :

  • Single or multiple site(s)
  • Global spend level
  • Building surface areas
  • Preference for internal / external operation
  • Relationships between landlord and occupants
  • New or old building
